Superfood Highlight:
Sea Buckthorn
Sea buckthorn carries the fire of northern shores in every berry. Its vivid orange hue signals a dense store of vitamin C, carotenoids, and rare omega-7 fatty acids. Long valued in Central Asia and Scandinavia, this superfruit brings both citrus-bright acidity and functional depth.
Within our spice blend it acts as the sharp mineral-citrus counterpoint: clean, tart, and nutritive. A botanical chosen not for novelty but for exacting composition.

You might be wondering
What is MY ZESTIE?
A finishing salt composition built for fruit. Icelandic flakes folded with hibiscus, yuzu, sumac, sea buckthorn, loomi, mint, and Aleppo. Designed for the ritual of salt on watermelon and beyond.
How should MY ZESTIE be used?
Dust lightly over cut fruit. Around 0.7–1.0 g per wedge of watermelon or 2–3 g for a bowl of cubes. Also suited to melon, pineapple, mango, cucumber, or a cocktail rim.
Does it contain sugar or fillers?
No. The blend is clean and minimal. Only mineral salts and botanicals, sifted fine for flow and flavor.
Why do people put salt on watermelon?
Salt heightens perception of sweetness. It tempers bitterness, makes water molecules release more flavor, and sharpens refreshment. Watermelon and salt benefits are both sensory and functional: more contrast, more juiciness, more satisfaction.
Does salt make watermelon sweeter?
Yes. Sodium dulls bitterness receptors and amplifies natural sugars. The fruit tastes brighter, sweeter, and more defined when balanced by a trace of salt.
Is watermelon and salt good for you?
In moderation, yes. Watermelon and salt benefits are hydration and natural electrolytes, while salt contributes minerals. Together they form a refreshing balance. Useful in summer heat or after exertion!
